Baby bears- 3 months to 2years
At Chantrey House nursery we are renowned for our excellent baby unit. We supply individualised care for babies and toddlers and the ratio in the baby room are 1:3. Our babies are cuddled often, and given the right amount of stimulation to aid their development.
There is a true home from home atmosphere, safety and happiness of your child being paramount. We stick to their home routine as much as possible so as not to upset them through this important stage of their life and development.
Panda bears-2-3 year olds
Each child is an individual. At Chantrey House we encourage the toddlers to develop at their own pace and explore the special delights of discovering the world around them. In the caring and happy environment of Chantrey House, children will be involved in all aspects of development and our carefully planned programmes will encourage the growth of confidence secure individuals. Our staff utilise observational techniques directly linked to the `Early years Foundation Stage ' to ascertain the learning needs of the individual children in our care. We use play and everyday experience to help in the ongoing development of the children. Our staff are always on hand to answer questions from your children to help them begin to understand the world around them and their place within it.
Polar bears
The pre-school room is both a fun and exciting place to be. We deliver a wide range of activities and offer many resources for the children to explore with and help them develop their self esteem and personalities. In the pre-school we continue to encourage the children`s interests, broadening experiences for the children to enable preparation for their journey to school. The pre-school room is a home from home experience where the children make real friends, learn, have fun and relax in a safe environment.
All three environments at the nursery complete regular observations on children. These are ongoing and help identify the key interests, likes and dislikes of the children. Practitioners use these observations to plan and steer children’s next steps via weekly plans. All of which are linked to the Early Years Foundation stage. All of our children have a full developmental file to which we add our observations, photos, pictures and their work. We also use these as guides to help ascertain the developmental stage each child is at. We constantly monitor these and discuss the children’s progress regularly with each other and with you the parents.
We welcome children from all ethnic backgrounds and religions and encourage multiculturalism. We work hard to share and celebrate children’s individuality. We are proud of our inclusive policy and have an inclusion certificate.
